Silver Hammer Publishing is an electronic publishing company that produces
e-mail newsletters about health and the Internet. Subscriptions to the weekly
newsletters are free.
The company currently publishes two newsletters: Health Newsbrief
and HealthESites.
The company was launched in March 2000 by Bruce
Maxwell, an investigative journalist and author of numerous books about
how to find information on the Internet. His most recent Internet books include
How to Find Health
Information on the Internet, How
to Track Politics on the Internet, and How
to Access the Federal Government on the Internet (fourth edition). All are
published by Congressional Quarterly in Washington, D.C.
The books have received outstanding
reviews from publications such as The Lancet, The New York Times Online,
Library Journal, Choice, USA Today.com, Online magazine, the Internet Resources
Newsletter, Current Cites, International Health News, Medical Reference Services
Quarterly, Issues in Science and Technology Librarianship, the Journal of Government
Information, Information Today, and Technical Communication, among others.
Maxwell received his master's degree from the University of Missouri School
of Journalism in 1983. He initially did investigative reporting for newspapers
in the Midwest, and his work won more than a dozen national, regional, and state
journalism awards.
