LEUKEMIA TREATMENT
Using the Internet as an organizing tool, people around the world
with chronic myelogenous leukemia, one of four forms of the
disease, have pressured the manufacturer of a new drug that has
shown great promise in early tests into speeding up the testing
process. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration also has scheduled
the drug for fast-track approval. Together, the two actions will
shave years off the amount of time it normally takes to bring a
new drug to market.
